Viagra, the world's second-biggest prescription drug, accounted for $11.9 billion in the U. S. in 2012, according to IMS Health. That's up from $12.9 billion in 2012. In other words, the $3 off coupon from Pfizer does not change the fact that Viagra remains a big drug in the world.
Viagra is available in pill-form and tablet-form. The pill form is called a tablet. Viagra's manufacturer, Schering-Plough Corp., manufactures and distributes the drug in different formulations such as creams, patches and gum, while the brand-name version is called Viagra. Pfizer has sold the product in the form of a pill.
Pfizer said the $3 off coupon will continue to remain in place, but the company will also be removing it from the pharmacy supply chain.
The manufacturer of Viagra has a new program, the "Promised Improvement Program," which will include the addition of the $3 off coupon from the manufacturer.
